Coaching
Executive Coaching
A partnership for leaders ready to explore what more is possible.
Why Coaching Helps
Space to Think
Protected time for strategic thinking, away from the noise and pressure of daily demands. At senior levels, this kind of space is rare.
A Thought Partner
Someone with no agenda except to be on your side. Truly neutral support is rare at senior levels — your coach is not your boss, your board, or your team.
Fresh Perspectives
The magic of thinking out loud and becoming aware of more creative solutions. New possibilities emerge when you have space to hear yourself think.
What Coaching Is(And Isn’t)
Future-focused
Coaching looks forward. We explore where you want to go and how to get there, rather than analysing the past.
Non-directive
You find your own solutions, prompted by my questioning. Though I do bring extensive expertise when appropriate to help you explore broader options.
Your agenda
Unlike mentoring, where someone shares their experience, coaching is entirely about you and your context. I may, if requested, offer ideas based on my wealth of experience but only ever within your context and to evoke awareness.
Partnership
We will partner in a thought provoking and creative process to inspire you to maximise your potential.
How We Begin
Chemistry Meeting
A conversation to see if we’re a good fit. There’s no commitment at this stage — it’s about exploring whether this is the right partnership for you.
Define Your Goals
Together we clarify what you want to achieve and agree on a timeframe that suits your objectives — typically 3, 6, or 12 months.
Begin the Work
Regular sessions of 60, 90 or 120 minutes at intervals that work for you, with support available via phone or email in between.
Common Questions
What will we cover in our conversations?
We will begin by understanding what truly matters to you — not what others expect, but what you genuinely want for yourself and your leadership. What is your unique goal or intention and motivation for change? Areas explored in coaching can range from the very specific such as formulating a transition plan, influencing stakeholders or enhancing performance in large meetings, to broader issues such as work life balance, long term career goals and consideration of purpose and core values, often a critical foundation for change.
Do you as the coach provide the answers?
My approach to coaching is based on a belief that most people have the answers to issues they face somewhere within themselves and that these answers can be brought out if they are given sufficient space, support and constructive challenge to explore their thoughts. You will lead the conversation, and I will support you in playing into your natural strengths and learning to know and work with your potential areas for development. I will also challenge and hold you to account for your dreams and aspirations.
How will we partner to achieve results?
I achieve impact with clients in part through The Grounding Steps Framework described in my book The Enlightened Organization. These are: 1. Discovering Purpose. What is your goal and why? 2. Developing Insight. What can we leverage and what is your stretch? 3. Remaining Open. Being curious about your role and the broader context, partnering to notice what is emerging as opportunities and new possibilities, and 4. Being Discerning. Focussing on meaningful actions towards realising your leadership potential and aspirations.
What happens in a first session?
We begin with a 'chemistry meeting' — an informal conversation to see how we might work together. We explore your aspirations and expectations from coaching and from me as a coach. There's no commitment at this stage, just an opportunity to explore whether this is the right partnership for you.
Ready to explore?
Every coaching relationship begins with a simple conversation. No pressure, no commitment — just a chance to explore what might be possible.
